Our Community

This aging in place program was designed by members of the mid-Peninsula community together with the non-profit senior services agency Avenidas. This group worked together for 18 months to create a viable program that would help seniors stay in the homes they loved.

Staff

Vickie Epstein, Program Director

Vickie Epstein earned her MSW from Saint Louis University in Missouri and did most of her early work in hospital settings, including five years at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose. Vickie was recruitment director for Child Advocates and served as Director of Program Services for the JCC in Los Gatos.

Helene Williams, Member Services Coordinator

Helen has a B.A in Social Science from USC in Los Angeles. Helene's professional background in in the corporate world, most recently in teh Biotech Industry, focusing on quality control and project management.

 

Our Founders

Various members of the mid-Peninsula community strongly believe in the strength of this program, and they donated money towards some of the start-up costs that the non-profit agency Avenidas incurred.

Strategic Alliances

Avenidas Village has developed alliances with medical providers to assure that when a member has a question or problem when hospitalized, we will be able to assist them as requested. Our current alliances include Palo Alto Medical Foundation, El Camino and Stanford University Hospitals and Kaiser-Permanente.
